Itinerary
Below is a sample itinerary for the Mustang Odyssey mountain biking adventure. Please note that we typically customize itineraries to match each client's needs and preferences, ensuring a unique and personalized adventure.
On your arrival at the Tribhuwan International airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel for refreshment. After freshening up, we will go out for our first traditional Nepali welcome dinner along with a Nepali culture dance show. During the dinner, we will go through an introduction within the group and an overview of the mountain biking trip to Mustang. Note: On this day, we will have to send all our bikes to Pokhara in preparation for the trip, so make sure you have everything you need for your ride.
After an early morning breakfast, we will head to the beautiful and clean city of Nepal, Pokhara. Pokhara is known for its beauty and adventure activities, so if you have enough time, you can explore the city. We will fly to Pokhara, which normally takes 25 minutes, and spend the day exploring the city.
We will wake up early for a 5:00 AM flight to Jomsom. The flight offers beautiful mountain views and is a great opportunity to experience the flight. As soon as we arrive in Jomsom, our bikes will be waiting for us, and we will assemble them in one of the hotels. We will also have our first mountain breakfast at an elevation of 2,743 meters. After we set up, we will ride to Kagbeni at an elevation of 2,804 meters. Today's ride will be around 20km, and we will stay in Kagbeni to explore the old Buddha monastery.
After breakfast, we will take a shuttle to Muktinath at 3,710 meters. After visiting Muktinath, we will ride to the top of the Gyula Pass, which is almost 4,000 meters from sea level. The ride from Muktinath to the top of the pass is gentle but can be challenging for some due to the altitude. The ride from the top of the pass down to Kagbeni is exhilarating and you will love it. We will stay in Kagbeni at the same hotel.
We will then continue on to Kalopani via Jomsom, which is located at an elevation of 2,520 meters. This is one of the most beautiful rides in the Annapurna region, thanks to the stunning trails, awe-inspiring mountains, and unique culture that we will encounter along the way. We will cover a distance of around 35 km on this day.
On the sixth day, we will set out from Kalopani and make our way to Tatopani, which is located at an elevation of 1,110 meters. This day will be the most challenging in terms of elevation gain, but the views along the way will be worth the effort. We will stop to admire one of the deepest gorges in the world and a beautiful long waterfall. The ride will mostly be on jeep tracks, but it will be a fun and exciting experience. We will also get the chance to interact with local villagers and learn about their customs and traditions. At the end of the day, we will be able to relax and unwind in the natural hot springs of Tatopani, which are believed to have healing properties.
On the seventh day of our tour, we will make our way back to Pokhara. We will start the day by riding down to Beni, passing through small villages along the way. Once we reach Beni, we will be transferred to Pokhara by private bus. In Pokhara, we will have some time for shopping and sightseeing before our farewell dinner. This is a great opportunity to reflect on the incredible experiences we have had over the past week, and to say goodbye to the new friends we have made on the tour. We will also have the chance to tip our guide, driver, and other crew members for their excellent service. After dinner, we will head out for a night of drinks and relaxation to celebrate the end of an unforgettable trip.
After a week of adventure and exploration in the Lower Mustang region, we will fly back to Kathmandu. We will celebrate the end of the tour, and enjoy traditional foods and drinks, such as rakshi and beer, and participate in the local celebrations. Our bikes and gear will be transported via jeep from Pokhara.
On the final day of the tour, we will spend the day (if your departure flight is in the evening) exploring the city's many temples and other sights. Kathmandu is home to many historic temples and monuments, and we will visit some of the most famous ones such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. These temples are not only important religious sites but also offer a glimpse into the rich culture and history of Nepal. This is a great way to end the tour, and you will leave with a deeper understanding of Nepal and its people. Our team will guide you to the airport on a private vehicle.
